Kodak Black is clarifying recent rumors about his religious beliefs following speculation that he converted to Islam. The rapper took to social media to assert that he identifies as a Hebrew Israelite, not a Muslim, despite the buzz generated by photos of him on a prayer rug in what looked like a mosque.
The rumors gained traction after images surfaced online, leading to widespread assumptions about his faith. Kodak explained that the photos were taken at the request of celebrity dentist “Bollywood” Saif Shere and emphasized that he felt disrespected by the narrative suggesting he converted to Islam.
He stated, “No disrespect to the Muslim community, but I am Hebrew Israelite,” expressing his frustration with how the situation was portrayed. In a video message, he reiterated, “I always say I like the literature, but I ain’t no [expletive] Muslim,” clarifying that he respects all religions while firmly standing by his own beliefs.
Kodak also addressed the social media frenzy, questioning why a simple photo led to such a misunderstanding. He criticized those who shared misleading images that misrepresented him, asserting, “I never said I’m Muslim.”
Despite the controversy, Kodak remains unfazed. He recently predicted that the hip-hop community might turn against him, similar to the backlash Drake faced during his feud with Kendrick Lamar. Nonetheless, he expressed confidence in his worth, stating, “But it’s love. They show like, I’m impressive. I’m a great friend to have and I ain’t friendly.”
Kodak’s strong stance highlights his commitment to his identity in the face of public scrutiny.
