6ix9ine, formerly Tekashi69, declared that he’s been blackballed in the music industry. However, the “TROLLZ” rapper’s claim backfired as some people blamed him for doing it to himself.
Making use of Instagram Story on Thursday, April 14, the 25-year-old penned, “IM BLACKBALLED DONT COMPARE ME TO ANY OTHER RAPPER ON OUR RELEASES. THEY GET EDITORIAL PLAYLISTING ON SPOTIFY AND APPLE + RADIO SPINS. FOR ME TO COMPETE I HAVE TO FIGHT TEN TIMES HARDER.”
I KNOW ITS A TREND TO HATE 69 BUT FACTS ARE FACTS CARRY ON,” 6ix9ine added. After the post was reshared by The Shade Room on Instagram, he doubled down on his statement by commenting, “The hate is getting weird.. it’s givin miserable .. carry on this sis.”
Internet users, however, couldn’t sympathize with him. “He is right about the hate 69 part but he forgot the part about how he did it to himself,” one person in particular opined, while another argued, “Who fault is that?! Should have just made music instead of all that extra trolling.”
Earlier this month, 6ix9ine announced his return by posting a creepy video on Instagram and dubbed himself “the King of New York.” He boasted, “I hope everybody enjoyed there 15 minutes. THE DEMON IS BACK APRIL 15TH. I’m THE BEAST they couldn’t contain. The industry most hated animal. APRIL 15th the KING OF NEW YORK IS COMING BACK.”
Fellow NY rapper Fivio Foreign, however, seemingly disagreed with 6ix9ine’s statement. The former tweeted, “5 Billboards in Times Square, Top 5 songs in NY on Apple at once, & articles in both Daily News & NY Times. Don’t ever let that n***a say he the King Of this city.”
Catching wind of the post, 6ix9ine fired back at Fivio by clowning the sales of his debut album, “B.I.B.L.E.”. After DJ Akademiks divulged that the project “is on pace to sell 29k first week,” 6ix9ine replied, “This y’all king? Not blackballed, all those features, the whole industry promoted that [crying emojis] and now you [Kanye West] and [Nicki Minaj] sidekick even they even tried to help you promote.”
