Fivio Foreign Hits Back After 6ix9ine Blasts First-Week Numbers for Debut Album and Tries Claiming King of NY Title

6ix9ine has been going after Fivio Foreign around the release of his debut album B.I.B.L.E., and now the New York drill MC has responded.

After the first week numbers for B.I.B.L.E. arrived, 6ix9ine was among those who were less than impressed. Debuting at No. 9 with 29,000 equivalent album units, the project became Fivio’s first top 10 project. It garnered 37.75 million on-demand streams, but only 1,000 pure album sales.

“This y’all king? Not blackballed, all those features, the whole industry promoted that,” wrote 6ix9ine in an Instagram comment. “And now you Kanye and Nicki sidekick even they even tried to help you promote.”

6ix9ine’s most recent album, 2020’s TattleTales, garnered 32.94 million on-demand streams in its first week with 32,000 pure album sales, debuting at No. 4 with a total of 53,000 equivalent album units. Billboard reported that most of those physical sales came from merch and ticket bundles. In its second week on the Billboard 200, TattleTales dropped dramatically to No. 60.

As 6ix9ine has continued to antagonize Fivio, the “City of Gods” rapper finally responded on Sunday with a pair of posts.

“My debut album is #9 onna Billboards that’s in the whole world,” he wrote, without mentioning any names directly. “From where I came from that’s a win.”

He also shared another response on his Instagram Stories, and this time he heavily alluded to 6ix9ine’s constant attempts at provocation.

“And this is why I don’t respond to these lame ass weirdo clout chase’n n***as,” Fivio wrote alongside a post showing he has five songs on the New York Apple Music charts. “[You] could buy YouTube views but you can’t buy chart positions. Everything this kid [has] ever said has been lie and everything else is gon b a lie. I apologize to the real 1’s out there that’s mad I’m entertaining this shit but fans most kno. What’s really goin on in NY.”

The situation between the artists kicked off earlier this month, when 6ix9ine proclaimed he was the king of New York upon teasing new music. Plenty of people doubted him, and Fivio was chief among them.

“5 Billboard in Times Square, Top 5 Songs in NY on Apple at once, & articles in both Daily News & NY Times,” he wrote of his own success. “Don’t ever let that n***a say he the King of this city.”

Fivio went deeper on that subject on IG Live on Sunday.

“If numbers and things like that and views and all that determined the King of New York, then guess what, you know who would be the King of New York? Hov would be the King of New York. N***as like Biggie Smalls would be the King of New York. N***as like that,” he said. “But guess what? Numbers don’t determine the King of New York. You know what determines the King of New York? How many people want to follow you, how many people want to wear they hairstyle like you…how many people want to be around you, how much people fuck with you. You know what I’m saying? The kingdom gotta fuck with you in order for you to be the king, n***a.”

While Tekashi hasn’t spoken further on the king of New York subject, he did take to his Stories to call out Fivio for his alleged treatment of a friend stuck behind bars:
