Kodak Black has spoken out against Tory Lanez’s guilty verdict in his felony assault case involving Megan Thee Stallion, taking aim at JAY-Z and the Houston Hottie in the process.
The Florida rapper addressed the verdict on Instagram Live earlier this week, shortly after Tory was convicted of shooting Megan in the feet during a drunken dispute in July 2020.
The Toronto native was found guilty on all three counts — assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a loaded unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharge of a firearm with gross negligence — following an almost two-week-long trial in Los Angeles.
He faces a maximum of 22 years and eight months in prison, as well as deportation to Canada. Sentencing will take place on January 27, 2023
Kodak began his broadcast by bemoaning the outcome of the trial, as well as it being held so close to the holidays, while defending Tory Lanez’s character.
“This shit ain’t right, homie,” he said. “Tory Lanez a good n-gga, bruh. If I had come out and done some shit and this shit fucking with my Christmas Eve, homie, n-ggas ain’t finna talk about that, n-ggas finna act like this shit ain’t even happen
Now I wasn’t even in the courtroom, but at the same time, if there is some fucked up shit going on, n-ggas ain’t gonna want to say nothing because this whole politics bullshit, and then all this JAY-Z shit, homie.”
He added: “That shit sad, bro. Tory Lanez, that man a good n-gga, bro. That shit fucked with me ’cause I’m a good n-gga, we got a kindred spirit. That man will stop and pray with you right quick
Kodak Black, who’s worked with Tory on multiple tracks including “Grah Tah Tah” and “Fuck With You,” clarified that he’s against violence towards women, but called out Megan Thee Stallion for being “caught in a few lies” on the witness stand.
The “Savage” rapper admitted during her testimony that she had been intimate with Tory prior to the shooting, contradicting previous claims that they did not have a sexual relationship.
Now, I’m a God-fearing n-gga. If my brother actually did that shit, God gon’ see it through to where he get the justifiable punishment He feel like he deserves for that,” Kodak continued. “I’m against n-ggas who hit bitches. I love my women, ya heard? I got a lot of women in my family, homie. I love the shit out of my momma so I can’t see or stand for a n-gga [who hit women]. That’s weak as fuck.
“So I ain’t saying, ‘Oh, free the n-gga’ or ‘I don’t got no respect for women’s’ rights’ or no crazy shit, but … whatever escapade transpired, them people was drunk. And when people talking like they done caught this female in a few lies and shit. They done caught this woman in a few lies. Okay, so that shit shouldn’t be admissible in court, homie!”
Yak continued to question the verdict by saying: “How the fuck you find a n-gga guilty for a shooting a bitch when there ain’t no evidence behind it?! Y’all talking about bitch had gun residue on film and another person. And ain’t nobody came through and say, ‘Oh yeah, he did that shit.’ That shit don’t sit well with me, homie.”
Kodak went on to call JAY-Z — whose Roc Nation company manages Megan — a “fuck n-gga” before again putting the Traumazine rapper on blast for pressing charges against Tory Lanez in the first place, an act he believes violated the street code.
“Who advised that shit to be right before Christmas? And JAY-Z standing behind that shit? You a fuck n-gga, homie,” he said. “And Megan, you supposed to be from the streets. Even if it was a damn gunshot, what the fuck?
I know a bitch who got shot in the toe too; you don’t see her trying to send n-ggas to jail about it … you done took a n-gga from their family. And after that, they about to get deported, bro.”
He added: “You don’t want to seem like no liar. Or Roc Nation and JAY-Z don’t want to feel like, ‘Oh, we investing money in this bitch and then they caught her lying.’ Oh, what that mean? Roc Nation a lie? Or some crazy shit like that. That shit crazy, bro
Kodak Black isn’t the only one disappointed with Tory Lanez’s conviction. After the jury reached their verdict, Tory’s father, Sonstar Peterson, branded the prosecutors “wicked” and “evil” while also expressing his anger at JAY-Z and Roc Nation.
“I just stood here in this Los Angeles county and witnessed the worst miscarriage of justice that this world has ever seen,” Sonstar told reporters outside the courthouse. He then read out a list of names that included Megan’s lawyer Alex Spiro, Desiree Perez, the COO of Roc Nation, “and the whole wicked system of Roc Nation, including you JAY-Z
He continued to lay in to Hov, adding: “You who say you rose from the gutter, but you have traded and bartered the souls of young men, and you’re still doing it.”
