Judge Greg Mathis has waded into the war waged by 50 Cent against his ex-girlfriend, Vivica A. Fox over her upcoming film, The First Lady of BMF: The Tonesa Welch Story.
In an Instagram reel posted on Friday (March 31), Mathis asked why Fif has been “critical” of the upcoming biopic featuring Fox in the director’s chair.
You my guy,” Mathis said, addressing 50 directly. “Let Tonesa eat! The first lady of BMF. You know, I know Lala’s doing a hell of a job — but y’all haven’t fed Toni.”
“I’m from Detroit, and they’re from Detroit — that’s how I’m involved,” he continued. “These are Detroiters, man. We cut from the same cloth. I respect you, man — I respect your work. Now, let us get some money.”

The upcoming film, which Judge Mathis will executive produce, is expected to premiere on BET+ later this year. The film “charts Welch’s rise from teen mother to drug dealer to being labeled by federal prosecutors as The First Lady of BMF.”
“Dreams and desires, craftiness and creativity, hustle and hard work, Welch tells a harrowing story about riches, remorse, personal responsibility, and redemption set amidst the lavishness and extreme violence of Detroit’s crack era and America’s ‘war on drugs,’” a description via Deadline states.
After catching wind of the project, 50 Cent — whose own BMF series launched in 2021 and is one of STARZ’s most popular shows — took to Instagram on Thursday (March 30) to call out his ex for venturing onto his turf.
This should say 263 not BMF, @southwest263 [shrug emoji],” he wrote, referencing the crew BMF co-founder Terry “Southwest T” Flenory started in Los Angeles. “What the fvck is this man! [tea emoji] [frog emoji].”
“Vivica ugh, So your not gonna ever leave me alone hun? and what the fvck is judge Mathis doing in this mix[.] I’m done, Im done with all of you ni66as. LOL.”
Fox has yet to respond, although she did share her excitement about directing The First Lady of BMF on Instagram when the film was announced earlier this month.
As for 50 Cent’s BMF series, the acclaimed drama recently wrapped its second season. A third season featuring new celebrity additions 2 Chainz and Ne-Yo is currently in the works.
50 Cent has also teased multiple BMF spin-offs as his TV empire continues to grow.
