DOJA CAT LOSES VERIFICATION ON TWITTER, SAYS BLUE CHECKS ARE FOR ‘DESPERATE’ PEOPLE

Doja Cat has been stripped of her verified status on Twitter, but she doesn’t seem to be all that bothered about it, and said that blue checks are for “desperate people.”

Despite the loss of her verified status, Doja Cat appears unperturbed and rather views the blue check as a sign of insecurity. She took to Twitter on Tuesday (April 11) to share her thoughts about the whole ordeal

She quoted a fan account of hers that suggested her days without the blue tick were numbered. Doja, however, seemed unfazed, saying that “only fans have blue ticks.”

According to another fan, she was likely going to pay for the verification of her account, which would mean that Elon Musk had done something to her. “You have to pay for twitter blue now ? What has elon done to you doja ?” they wrote.

Doja’s response was clear: “having a blue tick means you’re most likely a loser.”

To maintain a blue check, users must subscribe to Twitter Blue, which costs $8 per month (which equates to $84 per year). Due to backlash, Elon Musk suggested a lower subscription fee after initially charging $20.

In other Doja Cat-related news, the rapper announced that she’s making some changes to her music, after renouncing her pop star title in the hopes of perfecting her rap game. Last week, the “Woman” recording artist took to Twitter, revealing she’s turning over a leaf. “no more pop,” she tweeted.

i also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny,” she continued, responding to her critics. “I know they are. I wasnt trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I’m getting tired of hearing yall say that i can’t so I will.”

When questioned about what inspired the new direction — with one fan insinuating her haters got the best of her — the chart-topper admitted: “pop isnt exciting to me anymore. I dont wanna make it.”

The proclamation was well received with many claiming Doja is already dominating her competition. “cap lol you rap better than most rappers regardless of gender,” one user responded.

“Nah ur being way too humble u deserve to talk ur shit in the rap sphere already,” another user suggested.
