Soulja Boy has returned to Twitch more than a year after he’d been banned from the platform.
The rapper took to Twitter on Thursday (April 20) to reveal that his account on the popular gaming platform had been restored.
In his first tweet announcing his return, Soulja quote-tweeted another account, which revealed he’d been banned for exactly one year, four months, and one week. He then wrote, “I’m back!”
In the next tweet, he revealed “UNBANNED on Twitch. Big stream tonight!”
And he followed that tweet up with a tweet linking his followers to his Twitch profile.
The lifting of the ban comes just two days after Soulja Boy tweeted:”I’m still banned on Twitch, it’s been over a year.”
Big Draco was first banned from the social media platform in December, 2021. The Atlanta native was not too happy with the ban as he didn’t know what he did to even get one in the first place, and immediately took to Twitter to vent his frustrations about the ban. He also claimed that the platform was “racist” for banning him.
I can’t believe twitch can just ban you without any proof or explanation. This doesn’t feel right. I gotta sue these people,” he tweeted at the time. “If y’all don’t give me my account back I’m taking y’all to court @Twitch @TwitchSupport.”
He continued: “I need the best lawyer money can buy dm me I got millions I wanna sue twitch I feel like they racist they ban me without no explanation I will not stand for this.”
Soulja Boy then asked his fans who was in charge of Twitch because he wanted to have a conversation with them. “Who is the CEO of twitch and where can I find this n-gga at?,” he asked. “I need to talk to you. Now. @eshear.”
Twitch has yet to explain why Soulja Boy was banned, but it may have had something to do with the unfiltered live streams filled with him cursing, trolling, and excessively flexing with his money and jewelry.
A screenshot captured by It’s Only Entertainment featured a fan that claimed that Soulja Boy was banned from Twitch because he’d been “caught saying slurs” on the platform. However, the fan didn’t say what the rapper allegedly said, specifically, or how it was enough to get him banned.
