Benny the Butcher is assuring Griselda fans not to worry about the friction between his cousins Westside Gunn and Conway the Machine.
During a recent interview with Math Hoffa, Benny downplayed the issue when asked about the rumored tension between Westside and Conway.
“To be honest with you, I don’t know what it’s about,” Benny said just after the 0:30 mark above. “’Cause I’m in the loop with both of them n***as. And whenever that was going on, I know they was talking. Same thing, I call, they check in with each other. But this is what I wanna say: that’s to the world. Remind you that these are my cousins. That ain’t the first time, it won’t be the last.”
According to Benny, he isn’t exactly aware why the pair have an issue, particularly since both Westside and Conway are his older cousins, which doesn’t give him a place to question what their relationship with one another.
“These n***as is brothers. … And to be honest with you, these are my older cousins, so I’m not in a n***a’s business, on some G shit. I might not be in a position to call them n***as, like, ‘Man, what y’all…?’ [They’re] the big homies.”
When it’s all said and done, Benny is positive Westside and Conway will settle any issues they have with each other.
“You see them n***as together in Paris—I wasn’t there! I’m like, ‘The fuck you n***as ain’t call me for?” Benny joked. “But trust me, it’s never nothing where n***as ain’t doing business, n***as ain’t getting money, n***as ain’t at each other crib. It could never be like that.”
