Lil Wayne‘s daughter has been targeted by home invaders and she’s explained how she’s going to use it as a lesson to lead a more private life moving forward.
On Monday (May 8), Reginae Carter, Weezy’s 24-year-old daughter, took to Twitter to reflect on the horrifying ordeal, which thankfully went down while she wasn’t at home
Two guys tried to break in my home last night,” she wrote. “So Glad I wasn’t there [prayer hands emoji] people are sick !”
She then added: “This is my sign to get Tf out of here, and to be more private and more to myself about everything.”
Lil Wayne and his daughter are very close, and Reginae has gone to bat for her pops on numerous occasions, most recently in January, when chatter began online comparing Weezy’s discography to that of younger rappers.
“‘KEEP MY FATHERS NAME OUT YA MOUTH’ [crying laughing emojis],” she wrote jokingly at first. “Nah fr y’all need to stop comparing my dad to the new kids on the block .. gotta stop ! Everybody is super talented and dope ! Let them have their run and time will tell .. but leave that marathon Wayne ran out of it …”
In other news, Reginae and Tunechi’s former wife Toya Johnson-Rushing are currently wrapping up production for their own unscripted reality show.
Variety reported in April that AMC Networks’ WE TV has greenlit a new series called Toya & Reginae, starring the ex-wife and daughter of the New Orleans Hip Hop legend. The new unscripted show is a continuation of WE TV’s popular Growing Up Hip Hop franchise, which Johnson-Rushing and Carter have both been involved in.
Toya & Reginae will air this fall exclusively on WE TV and sister steamer ALLBLK.
I’m so excited to let viewers back into our lives to see what my family has been up to since you’ve seen us last,” Johnson-Rushing added in a recent statement.
As for Wayne, he’s currently in the throes of his Welcome to The Carter Tour, which heads to Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday (May 9).
