YOUNG THUG RUSHED TO HOSPITAL AFTER FALLING ILL AHEAD OF COURT DATE

Young Thug has given his fans quite the scare after being rushed to the hospital with what his lawyers called a “medical emergency.”

WSB-TV, the Atlanta ABC affiliate, reported that Thugga (real name Jeffrey Williams) had a medical emergency while he was in court on Thursday (May 11), and the proceedings were halted as he was rushed to a nearby hospital

“I know he’s had some difficulty of a similar sort at the Cobb County Jail a few months ago, and so I’m obviously concerned about his wellbeing,” his attorney, Keith Adams, told the Fulton County magistrate, Ural Glanville.

“Mr. Williams is sleep deprived, mandated to wake up on court days between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. and not having more than five hours of sleep per night. By the end of the week, Mr. Williams is fighting to pay attention to the goings on in his case.

Due to medical privacy laws, details about Young Thug’s illness were not released to the public. However, Judge Glanville did grant Adams permission to visit his client in the hospital.

Prior to this latest incident, the “Stoner” rapper’s lawyers petitioned the Fulton County court to let him out on bond, arguing that the conditions in the prison were less-than-ideal. Their petition was denied. But at 5:45 p.m. ET on Thursday (May 11), Young Thug’s lawyers released a statement claiming that their client was now “fine” and ready to proceed with the trial.

“Jeffery was not feeling well earlier, and the sheriff’s office had him seen by medical personnel to ensure that he was okay,” Adams told Vulture in a statement. “We expect to be back in court tomorrow as we continue to fight these charges and work toward getting him home.”

This is just the latest drama in the sweeping YSL RICO trial that has been nothing if not a bumpy ride, with pre-trial issues ranging from schizophrenia diagnoses to attorneys getting jailed for possessing drugs.

Young Thug faces eight charges in the 65-count indictment, including conspiracy to violate the RICO Act and an array of weapons and drug charges.

Gunna, Young Thug’s brother Unfoonk, Slimelife Shawty (Winnie Lee), Lil Duke (Martinez Arnold), YSL co-founder Walter Murphy and Antonio “Obama” Sumlin are just a few of the many co-defendants in the trial, and some — like Gunna — have already taken plea deals.

If convicted of all the charges, Thugga faces up to 25 years in prison.
