Janelle Monáe‘s album rollout has taken a nostalgic turn after she released an MTV Spring Break-inspired teaser trailer ahead of her upcoming album release date.
On Monday (June 5), the Glass Onion star took to Instagram to drop off the trailer for her upcoming album, The Age Of Pleasure, which appears straight out of an episode of MTV’s Spring Break.
Aptly titled Pleasure TV, the vintage-esque footage shows fans having fun in the sun while preparing for the album’s release.

The singer’s highly-anticipated fourth studio album is scheduled to be released on Friday (June 9).
A few weeks back, Monáe announced she was preparing to take her album on the road with the help of some tantalizing promo she shared via Instagram. According to the post, The Age Of Pleasure tour is set to kick off this fall.
Aside from posting the dates for the upcoming trek, Monáe left little to the imagination, rocking just a pair of shorts while her braids covered her breasts.
Monáe then turned it up a notch by posing with her hands in her shorts. The move seems to be in reference to Jimi Hendrix, who appears in another slide in the post, where the late rock pioneer is spotted with his hands down his pants. She also included a photo of Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk in a similar pose.
Monáe’s Age Of Pleasure tour will begin on August 30 in Seattle, Washington, at WAMU Theater. The North American tour is set to make pitstops in big cities like Portland, Chicago, Boston, Toronto, Brooklyn, and more.
Regarding some of the negative commentary the “Tightrope” singer received for the NSFW promotional campaign for her upcoming album, Monáe appears to be unbothered and rather enjoys showing off her breasts.
I’m much happier when my titties are out, and I can run around free,” she told Rolling Stone in a recent interview.
