CORMEGA SALUTES ‘FUTURE HALL OF FAMERS’ BONE THUGS-N-HARMONY

Cormega has been busy as of late giving flowers to the Hip Hop artists he believes deserve a lot more props than they actually get, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are next on his list.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday (June 10), the Queensbridge rapper saluted Krayzie BoneLayzie BoneBizzy Bone, Wish Bone and Flesh-N-Bone, dubbing them “one of the most unique rap groups ever

Before Eazy E left this world he gave us a reminder of his savvy as a music executive. Bone Thugs N Harmony was and is one of the most unique rap groups ever,” Cormega captioned a photograph of the group minus Flesh, who was likely incarcerated at the time it was taken. “They harmonize like a choir while simultaneously lyrically staying aligned with rap group precision and verbally switching tempos perfectly.”

Cormega then turned his attention to two of the group’s biggest songs, “1st of tha Month” and “Tha Crossroads,” explaining how the emotion in the latter has never been topped by anyone to this day

“Their song ‘1st Of The Month’ was a catchy hit that caught my attention and their music afterwards kept my attention,” he wrote. “I’ve never heard a song about death sound sonically beautiful until I heard ‘Cross Roads.’ The video is very thought provoking and brings an added element to the song. A melodramatic emotional experience never surpassed to this very day.

“They became superstars selling over 14 million records to date making them one of the top rap groups of all time if we’re being unbiasedly honest

Elsewhere in the post, Cormega pointed out how Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are the only group to collaborate with both 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G. prior to their deaths, before declaring the Cleveland group “future Hall Of Famers.”

“They are also the only group that did a song with Tupac ‘Thug Luv,’ and Biggie ‘Notorious Thugs.’ Each song is amazing in its own way. ‘Thug Luv’ edgy and energetic, ‘Notorious Thugs’ melodic and unexpected at the time. Bone Thugs N Harmony are future Hall Of Famers who deserve acknowledgment for their contribution to the genre. Salute #bonesthugsnharmony.”

This isn’t the first time in recent weeks that the Realness rapper has given props to a legendary Hip Hop group. At the end of last month, he expressed how he believes Gang Starr are overlooked, despite their achievements and what they’ve brought to the game.

“I have a question? How is a group with one of the most innovative lyricist and a prolific producer who is on the Mount Rushmore of production overlooked?” he asked. “I see list mention groups and exclude Gangstarr that is blasphemy. Some people’s opinion blur the lines of reality. Guru is one of a kind.”

He added: “Together Guru and Premier made a catalog of albums that stood the test of time and should never be excluded from any top group discussion they were elite. Rest in poetic grace Guru. And salute to Premier.”

Meanwhile, Krayzie Bone recently weighed in on the discussion surrounding the lack of rap groups in modern music, putting it down to “egos” and “selfishness” getting in the way.

Everybody wants to be that dude in the group, everybody wanna be that front dude,” he told Power 106 Los Angeles. “And if you do get a group, they only gonna last for the first project. The egos is gonna kick in…they gonna split. It always happens, bro. Always.”
