ATLANTA, GA – Finesse2Tymes performed at an Atlanta nightclub after-party just prior to a shooting over the weekend that left five injured.
According to FOX5, police were called to the Cosmopolitan Premier Lounge in DeKalb County around 3 a.m. ET on Sunday (June 18). Authorities are still searching for suspects.
The Memphis rapper was billed to perform at the club for its Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash as footage surfaced of the apparent chaos in the midst of the gunfire.
“[There is] a lot of crime at this club,” a security guard for the plaza where the club is located relayed. “Several years of different names, different owners, same crime. Every time they open up, same thing, shootings. I was supposed to work there that night, but they didn’t need anybody.”
Frustrated fans voiced their apprehension to ever attend any events that Finesse is associated with in the future.
“You couldn’t pay me to even walk pass a venue he at. Something dark always following him,” one person wrote while another said, “I don’t see how this mane show always end in a shootout. Crazy!”
This is far from the first time a Finesse2Tymes performance has been at the center of controversy. In January, a shooting took place at a Tennessee concert where two were arrested for leaving three injured.
A dispute broke out before shots were fired, according to WREG. Footage of the incident was shared on YouTube and shows Finesse2Tymes on stage performing when a fight breaks out in the crowd to the left of him, prompting him to jump off stage and stop his performance.
Another incident tragically left three dead in March due to a stampede at a Rochester, New York concert hosted by Finesse2Tymes and GloRilla.
Police believe a rumor of gunfire — which was unfounded — proved to be the impetus behind the stampede which left three dead and numerous others injured
The Main Street Armory’s entertainment license has not been renewed by the city of Rochester, and the venue will be shut down while criminal and regulatory investigations take place.
