Faith Evans has revealed what she loved most about her late husband, legendary New York rapper Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace.
During a recent appearance on the Marriage or Mirage podcast, co-host Charmaine posed the question: “What did you love about Biggie?” To which the “Love Like This” singer quickly jumped at the opportunity to give her late husband his flowers
Everything. I loved everything about him,” she began. “He was honest. You understand? One thing about him, even at that young age… honest! Yo, I respect it. I’m like, I can’t take nothing else.”
The 50-year-old went on to recall a time when she asked Biggie “Did you fuck her?” and he admitted it, rather than lie. Big was “honest as fuck,” she added, before revealing: “Most of the time I didn’t know what was going on but when I did and I asked him — he told the truth.”
Faith’s declaration received a lukewarm reception from fans who poked fun at her comments about Biggie being an honest man.
“Biggie honest ?! Lol then why you caught him in hotel rooms ?! Y’all really say anything after ppl die [laughing emoji] but lemme be quiet and go listen Chile,” commented one user.
“Why she lying like this , cus isn’t he the same man that act like he wasn’t screwing kim while he was with her !” wrote another
While others defended her admission and claimed it was a wonderful way to remember her late love. “Honesty is the best gift ever and always!!! Great thing to say about him in his absence,” one commenter said.
It was love at first sight for the pair who married rather quickly, after meeting at a promotional photoshoot for Bad Boy Records in 1994. “I married her after knowing her eight days and I was happy. That was my baby,” Biggie once told Vibe. “At the same time, with us being so spontaneous, we did it backwards.”
In 1997, the iconic rapper behind “Hypnotize” and “Big Poppa” died at the age of 24. He was survived by Evans and their son, CJ Wallace.
Since then, Evans moved on with music producer Stevie J. Though, the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta couple’s love story would come to an abrupt halt after Stevie J accused Evans of cheating. An allegation that appeared to open a can of worms including a stolen Benz, vicious spats leaked online, and a pricey divorce.
In July, after a lengthy and bitter divorce battle, the ex-lovers reportedly settled their differences and parted ways, for good.
According to RadarOnline, court documents showed that Evans informed the court that she had “entered into a written agreement regarding their property and their marriage or domestic support partnership rights, including support.”
While the terms of the deal have yet to be revealed, the R&B singer submitted a copy to the court and it reportedly includes spousal support and attorney fees.
The filing read: “There are irreconcilable differences that have led to the irremediable breakdown of the marriage or domestic partnership, and there is no possibility of saving the marriage or domestic partnership through counseling or other means.”
