Tory Lanez is preparing a new batch of songs he’s looking to deliver as part of the deluxe edition to one of his recent projects.
The incarcerated Canadian artist got his hands on his X account on Monday (November 6) and teased an extended version of his Alone at Prom project, which originally arrived back in December 2021.
I Think .. Ashton’s Back #AloneAtPromDeluxe :),” he wrote.
It’s unclear when the deluxe album might arrive, but the two-year anniversary is fast-approaching next month.
Fans were excited to hear from Tory Lanez, along with the possibility of new music. His last project Sorry 4 What arrived in 2022.
“Bro we need you back… from JAIL,” one person said while another added: “WE BEEN WAITING!”
As far as his legal case goes, Tory Lanez had his bail appeal rejected by a judge last month and will remain behind bars.
According to the order, the “appellant has not shown that the superior court unjustifiably denied relief.”
In other words, the rapper and singer couldn’t prove, based on his filings, that he wasn’t treated fairly by the court system — despite his repeated claims to the contrary.
The appeal for Tory Lanez’s release pending appeal was first filed back in August, shortly after the Sorry 4 What hitmaker received his sentence for the July 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.
Following a stint at North Kern State Prison, Lanez was moved to a maximum security prison further upstate in California and is currently being housed in the California Correctional Institute in Tehachapi.
“Just FYI because people are asking, this isn’t true,” reporter Meghann Cuniff wrote on X in response to a post claiming that the rapper had been placed in gen pop.
Tory Lanez was moved to the California Correctional Institute, a state supermax prison that is not North Kern State Prison. Reports that Lanez was moved to general population at North Kern are false.”
She added: “California Correctional Institute is in Tehachapi, about 85 miles southeast of Kern. It’s designated as a supermax prison, so ‘general population’ there is not quite the same as general population elsewhere.”
Tory Lanez was convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the feet in July 2020 and handed a 10-year prison sentence this summer.
