50 Cent, Killer Mike, and Nas have been named as just a few of the many performers at this year’s Ottawa Bluesfest, which will take place over several days this summer.
According to the flyer released by event promoters, the G-Unit head honcho and Killer Mike will perform on July 6, alongside a myriad of other diverse acts including Shred Kelly and Melo-T. Meanwhile, Nasty Nas will perform on July 14, the last day of the festival, alongside Ben Howard and Le Winston Band
Other performers include Nickelback, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Maroon 5, and the Zac Brown Band.
“We can’t wait to celebrate 30 years of music with you and we are thrilled to announce your 30th Anniversary lineup!” read the caption to the flyer, in part, which included a link to purchase pre-sale tickets that began on Friday (March 1).
Killer Mike recently made headlines when he attended wrestler Ric Flair’s 75th birthday celebration on Sunday (February 25).
Aside from the Run the Jewels co-founder, other attendees included Darius Rucker, Hulk Hogan, and more.
Following the special night, Flair took to social media show his appreciation to those who showed up for him.
“Thank You To All Of My Family & Friends For Coming Together For Such A Special Birthday Celebration! It Was A Very Sentimental Night For Me! I Am So Blessed To Be Able To Make These Memories With You All! Here’s To 75! WOOOOO!”
Killer Mike and Ric Flair’s relationship goes way back. Back in 2015, the ” SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS” rapper shared a music video for the aptly titled “Ric Flair,” a cut from the rapper’s 2011 solo album Pl3dge.
The video finds Mike walking through the streets of Los Angeles, rhyming and stealing, as classic clips of the wrestler are projected onto the city’s buildings. The song also features multiple clips of the popular monologs that made Ric Flair a fan favorite.
As for Fif, he’s been celebrating BMF getting renewed for a fourth season by STARZ just days after Big Meech saw his prison sentence reduced.
As reported earlier this week, the Black Mafia Family co-founder is now set to be freed by 2025 after initially being handed a 30-year sentence in 2008 for drug trafficking
50’s series BMF is based on the rise of the criminal organization in the ’80s and ’90s, and the G-Unit mogul has welcomed his run at STARZ being extended.
Fif wrote on Instagram on Thursday (February 29): “You know the vibes season 4 [bomb emoji] on the way. It’s only gonna get bigger and better but catch season 3.”
He also shared a video from Power star Gianni Paolo, who could be seen promoting the season three premiere of BMF over a backdrop of a news article about Meech’s reduced sentence.
“I just wanna say I’m super excited for the best show on STARZ to be back — BMF,” Paolo said. “Season three airs March 1st and I’m just so excited to see it.”
He then joked: “It’s way, way better than Power. I don’t even like Power. I’m just here for a paycheck. I’d rather be on BMF.”
50 added in the caption: “LOL GLG GreenLightGang we all on the same team. We been #1 In African American and Latina households for 11years. @giannivpaolo is just different!”
