HipHopRaisedMeTheBlog.com reports that Young Thug’s co-defendant, Yak Gotti, has been acquitted of all charges in the ongoing YSL RICO trial. After facing a traumatic jail stabbing just days prior, Yak Gotti walked out a free man, beaming as he embraced his attorney, Doug Weinstein, who has stood by him throughout the ordeal.
In a related verdict, another co-defendant, Shannon Stillwell, was sentenced to probation for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon but was found not guilty of murder and other charges. Stillwell also shared an emotional moment with his lawyer as they celebrated the verdict.
The YSL RICO trial, noted for being the longest-running in Georgia’s history, has seen its fair share of drama. Young Thug himself struck a plea deal that resulted in a lengthy probation sentence, which led legal analyst Meghann Cuniff to express concern over the trial’s outcomes, suggesting that Georgia should feel embarrassed by the results.
Jeff DiSantis, a spokesperson for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, addressed the media, stating, “We always respect the verdict of a jury.”
With Yak Gotti and Stillwell now cleared of their charges, both are expected to return to their music careers and continue making hit records. However, it remains uncertain whether Gunna will be included in their future projects.
