New Music Friday: Fresh Albums from Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre, DMX, Fat Joe, and More

This week in hip-hop has been filled with excitement, and New Music Friday is here to shift the focus back to the artistry of some of the genre’s most iconic figures, both past and present.
Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have reunited on “Missionary,” a highly anticipated follow-up to 1993’s classic “Doggystyle.” This new album features an impressive lineup of guest artists, including Eminem, 50 Cent, Method Man, Sting, and Tom Petty. However, it’s Snoop who commands the spotlight, delivering his best performance yet over Dr. Dre’s signature polished beats.
In other news, the estate of the late DMX has released his second posthumous project, “Let Us Pray: Chapter X.” Although it runs more like a four-track EP than a full album, it explores DMX’s spiritual side with the help of gospel producer Warryn Campbell.
Fat Joe also makes a comeback with “The World Changed On Me,” his first solo album in over a decade. Meanwhile, Florida’s BossMan Dlow wraps up a successful year with “Dlow Curry,” named after the NBA sharpshooter.
Roc Marciano and The Alchemist return with “The Skeleton Key,” a follow-up to their 2022 collaboration, “The Elephant Man’s Bones.” Additionally, artists like Sleepy Hallow, RJMrLA, and Paul Wall offer fans new tracks to enjoy as the weekend approaches.
