Karrine Steffans Shares Insights on Jay-Z’s Allegations

By hiphopraisedmetheblog

Karrine Steffans, also known as Elizabeth Oveson, has recently addressed the allegations surrounding Jay-Z, stating that she is not surprised by the claims. Steffans, who gained recognition for her role in the music video for Jay-Z’s 2000 hit “Hey Papi,” has previously detailed her relationship with the rapper in her memoir, Video Vixen. In a conversation with The Daily Beast, she discussed the serious allegation that Jay-Z reportedly raped a 13-year-old at a 2000 afterparty with Diddy.

“None of this is shocking, and it’s all part of the same [Me Too] movement,” Steffans remarked. “I don’t understand why people are treating this recent wave of allegations against Black music executives and artists as separate from the original #MeToo investigations. They are all interconnected.” She referenced high-profile cases involving Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, and Jeffrey Epstein, suggesting that numerous other men are yet to face accusations and consequences for their actions.

Steffans elaborated, “These individuals operate within the same circles, sharing connections with just a few degrees of separation. They have similar handlers, frequent the same events, and live by a shared code that often disregards the law. What we’re witnessing with (P. Diddy) and now Jay-Z is not an isolated incident.”

The allegations against Jay-Z emerged in an amendment to a lawsuit initially filed against Diddy by an anonymous woman, both of whom have vehemently denied her claims. Jay-Z has even accused the woman’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, of attempting to extort him. Following the lawsuit’s filing, Jay-Z took to social media to assert his innocence, stating, “I’m not from your world. I’m a young man who made it out of the projects in Brooklyn. We don’t engage in these games; we adhere to strict codes of honor and protect our children.”
