Snoop Dogg Called Out by Outlawz Rapper Over ‘Wild’ 2Pac & Nas Story

Snoop Dogg has come under scrutiny for his retelling of a historical encounter between 2Pac and Nas, with Young Noble of the Outlawz calling out the West Coast legend for what he perceives as a revisionist account. In a recent interview with The Art Of Dialogue, Noble expressed concern over the varying narratives that have emerged regarding the 1990s confrontation at Bryant Park.

Noble recounted that Nas approached 2Pac directly, showing no signs of fear or hesitation despite being outnumbered. He emphasized the authenticity of the interaction, stating, “It was as gangsta as it gets.” However, he criticized the subsequent embellishments surrounding the story, remarking how over the years, various individuals have created “wild stories” about that night, including Snoop Dogg’s version.

While acknowledging his admiration for Snoop, Noble pointed out that the rapper’s depiction misrepresented the dynamics of the situation, suggesting that Snoop may not have realized the support surrounding 2Pac at the time. He stressed that the narrative should reflect the reality of the event rather than sensationalized accounts that have developed over the decades.

Nas himself has previously addressed Snoop Dogg’s retelling, noting discrepancies in the versions of events. He recalled the tension flaring between their camps in New York, referencing a moment where he and 2Pac exchanged words, clarifying that he was not dissing 2Pac in his music as had been rumored.

Both artists ultimately managed to resolve their differences during their conversation, highlighting the complexities of their relationship and the importance of open dialogue in the face of miscommunication.

This discourse serves as a reminder of the rich history within hip-hop and the necessity for accuracy when recounting pivotal moments that have shaped the culture.
