Tyler, The Creator Unveils Remix of Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Hey Now’

Tyler, The Creator has gifted fans a delightful holiday surprise with the release of his remix of Kendrick Lamar’s standout track “Hey Now” from the album GNX. Unveiled on Christmas Day, the remix titled “That Guy” came in response to a fan’s wish for Tyler to freestyle over the track.

“Merry Christmas. Had fun with it,” Tyler tweeted, sharing a link to the YouTube remix. The song not only showcases his lyrical prowess but also nods to his surprise appearance at Kendrick’s unforgettable Pop Out concert earlier this year.

In the remix, Tyler raps, “Lil bunny hop out, you seen me at the pop out / Pandemonium screaming like they brought Pac out / Stop it with the chit chat we airing out the kickback / Big stud energy the way I get my lick back.” These lines encapsulate his playful style while referencing his dynamic presence at the concert.

Tyler also reflects on the success of his latest album, Chromakopia, rapping about its impressive sales: “300k in four days Chromakopia / 12 days gold I ain’t even drop deluxe one / Sold a million tickets first day for that new stage.” The accompanying video for the remix features cameos from his former Odd Future collaborators, including Jasper Dolphin, Travis “Taco” Bennett, and Lionel “L-Boy” Boyce, adding a nostalgic touch.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Tyler shared how he ended up performing at the Pop Out concert despite not initially planning to attend. “I wasn’t even supposed to go — I was in Atlanta working on this album,” he explained. “But I landed that morning and couldn’t miss this shit. And I don’t even get FOMO at all, n-gga — I’ll go to sleep. But I’m cool with Kenny and Dave [Free] and Tim [Hinshaw] from Free Lunch. So I went home, showered and ran straight there.” Although he didn’t perform a full set, he managed to delight the audience with two songs, including his hit “Earfquake.”

Chromakopia has proven to be a monumental success for Tyler, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and selling over 500,000 copies within the first month. Tyler has also made waves on the Billboard Hot 100, with tracks like “St. Chroma” and “Noid” entering the top ten, and most recently, “Sticky,” featuring GloRilla, Sexyy Red, and Lil Wayne, achieving similar success.

As Tyler continues to push boundaries and redefine his artistry, fans can look forward to more exciting collaborations and releases in the future. Keep it locked on HipHopRaisedMeTheBlog.com for all the latest updates from the hip-hop scene!
