SZA does not seem opposed to the growing fan calls for a joint project with her frequent collaborator, Kendrick Lamar. The pair recently reunited on the song “30 For 30” from SZA’s new Lana (SOS Deluxe) album, which was released shortly after they announced a joint tour.
Social media has been buzzing with requests for a full body of work from the duo, with one notable post making its way onto SZA’s Instagram Story, which fans are interpreting as a sign of support. “I speak for all Kendrick and SZA fans when I say – we need an EP bro,” a fan stated in the clip. “We need an entire project of Kendrick and SZA collabs. Because this chemistry is undeniable at this point! Every time they get together it’s a hit, bro!”
With the upcoming tour, fans are hopeful that the two artists might take the opportunity to collaborate further, although nothing has been officially confirmed. Initially a 21-date arena tour, Kendrick Lamar and SZA later expanded their Grand National Tour to include additional stops, bringing the total to 23.
The tour will kick off on April 19 in Minneapolis, MN, and wrap up on June 18 in Landover, MD, with stops in major cities such as Houston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Chicago along the way. Tickets are available now through the tour’s official website.
Notably, Kendrick will be headlining the Roger Centre in Toronto, making him the first rapper to perform at the venue, previously known as the SkyDome. Fans on social media were quick to react, interpreting Kendrick’s Toronto concert as a subtle jab at Drake, especially since it falls shortly before Father’s Day.
The anticipation for a joint project continues to grow, as fans eagerly await what the future holds for SZA and Kendrick Lamar.
