Mass Shooting in Queens Leaves at Least 10 Injured

In a tragic incident, a mass shooting occurred at a nightclub in Queens, injuring at least 11 individuals. The gunfire erupted around 11:20 PM on January 1, near the Amazura event hall located at 91-12 144th Place in Jamaica, within the 103rd Precinct.

According to law enforcement sources, the nightclub was hosting a private event at the time, honoring a local gang member who was killed last October—a date that unfortunately coincided with New Year’s Day festivities. As approximately 80 people gathered outside the venue waiting to enter, two to three suspects approached from the eastbound direction along 144th Place and began firing indiscriminately into the crowd.

Reports indicate that at least three of the wounded sought medical treatment at a nearby hospital. Multiple NYPD units have responded to the scene and established a significant crime scene, with as many as two suspects still at large.

The Amazura event hall, which is situated a few blocks away from the Jamaica Long Island Rail Road station, has a history of violence; earlier in April 2024, two men were shot and injured at the same location.

NYPD officials are expected to provide further updates on the investigation into the mass shooting early Thursday morning. This is a developing story, and more information will be available as it unfolds.
