Gloss Up Involved in Physical Altercation with Former Manager Over Cheating Allegations

Memphis rapper Gloss Up, recognized for her hit “Check,” has found herself embroiled in a significant controversy that escalated from professional tensions to a physical confrontation. A viral video has surfaced, depicting a clash between Gloss Up, whose real name is Jerrica Russell, and her former manager, Tatiyana Blood. Blood has since come forward to confirm the incident.

During an Instagram Live session on January 4, Blood recounted the events that transpired outside Dreamz Restaurant and Lounge in Duluth, Georgia, on New Year’s Day. She described being unexpectedly attacked, stating, โ€œOut of nowhere, I was hit from behind. I didnโ€™t see it coming at all.โ€ Blood detailed her injuries, including a swollen nose, scraped knees, and bruising on her hip. Expressing her discomfort following the altercation, she admitted to feeling intimidated and fearful for her safety when out in public.

Tensions have further escalated, with Blood alleging that Gloss Up attempted to file a restraining order against her without justification. In retaliation, Blood has reportedly filed battery charges against the rapper. Gloss Up appeared to respond to the situation indirectly on her Instagram stories, posting a cryptic message that read, โ€œSmiling so hard in a mugshot about my livelihood,โ€ leaving fans to speculate about her viewpoint on the unfolding drama.

Gloss Up recently released her single “Robbery” in November and dropped her EP, “Not Ya Girl: Act 1,” under Quality Control Music in May 2024. The EP features collaborations with artists such as Hunxho, Skilla Baby, and Jacquees. As she prepares to tour with Erica Banks, the impact of this altercation on her career remains uncertain.
