SZA has recently revealed her intentions for the future as she nears the end of her recording contract. On January 4, she expressed a desire to create “peaceful children’s music” to fulfill her remaining album obligations before embarking on a new journey as a farmer, where she hopes to donate fresh produce to underserved communities.
Having previously appeared on Sesame Street in March 2024—a goal she had publicly announced seven years earlier—SZA is no stranger to children’s entertainment. Her discography includes the acclaimed albums Ctrl and SOS, though the precise number of albums left on her contract remains unclear.
This announcement follows the release of SOS Deluxe: Lana, a 38-track project that launched in December 2024 after some delays. SZA informed fans about the album’s release on social media, noting that she needed extra time for mixing. The deluxe edition comprises both new tracks and previously released songs, with additional updates expected on January 6.
Looking ahead, 2025 is set to be a busy year for SZA as she gears up for her Grand National Tour alongside Kendrick Lamar. Kicking off in April, the tour will last two months and cover various U.S. cities, concluding in Washington, D.C. in June. SZA and Lamar have collaborated on multiple tracks over the years, further strengthening their musical partnership.
