Lil Baby Achieves Major Milestone with Impressive First Week Sales of “WHAM”

Lil Baby continues to solidify his status as a leading figure in hip-hop with the successful release of his latest album, WHAM. Despite mixed critical reviews, the rapper’s fanbase has shown unwavering support, propelling the album’s first week sales to exceed expectations. Originally projected to sell 130,000 units, WHAM ultimately sold 145,000 units, marking it as Lil Baby’s fourth number one album on the Billboard 200.

The success of WHAM sees Lil Baby surpassing reggaeton superstar Bad Bunny, whose latest release garnered 118,000 units during the same timeframe. This achievement highlights Lil Baby’s continued relevance in the competitive music landscape, as he has now topped the Billboard 200 four times with previous albums including My Turn (2020), It’s Only Me (2022), and the collaborative effort The Voice of the Heroes with Lil Durk (2021).

In terms of first week sales, WHAM ranks as the fourth highest in Lil Baby’s career, following My Turn’s 197,000 units, and It’s Only Me’s 216,000 units. The rapper also released an extended version of WHAM shortly after its debut, which is expected to boost its second week sales significantly. Currently, he is busy filming a music video for one of the bonus tracks featuring Future.

Lil Baby’s My Turn has been recognized as not just a commercial success but also as the only hip-hop album to break into the top ten of the biggest albums of the 21st century, solidifying his impact on the genre. As he continues to navigate the industry, fans eagerly anticipate what else he has in store following this impressive milestone with WHAM.
