In an impressive comeback, Lil Baby has once again claimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 with his latest album, WHAM, which sold a staggering 140,000 units in its debut week. This marks the Atlanta rapper’s fourth number one album, following his previous hits including It’s Only Me and his collaboration with Lil Durk, The Voice of the Heroes.
Released on January 3, WHAM has outperformed competitors such as Bad Bunny, SZA, Kendrick Lamar, and Sabrina Carpenter to secure its place at the top of the chart for the week ending January 18.
The album features a star-studded lineup with contributions from notable artists like Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, GloRilla, Rod Wave, Rylo, and 21 Savage, showcasing Lil Baby’s versatility and connections within the industry.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there. Lil Baby revealed during an appearance on Lil Yachty’s A Safe Place podcast that WHAM is just the beginning, as he plans to release two more albums in 2025. Initially considering a double album, he has decided to separate the projects, with one titled after his real name, Dominique, expected to drop in February.
Lil Baby elaborated on the distinct themes of his upcoming albums, indicating that WHAM captures a more energetic lifestyle filled with fast cars, parties, and luxury, while Dominique will delve into deeper, more personal themes, marking a new chapter in his artistic journey.
Adding to his accolades, his previous album My Turn was recently recognized as the most popular rap album of the century based on Billboard chart performance, solidifying Lil Baby’s status as a leading figure in hip-hop.
As he continues to dominate the charts, fans eagerly anticipate what Lil Baby has in store for the rest of the year!
