In a poignant moment that left Gillie Da Kid visibly emotional, Sauce Walka honored the memory of his late son, YNG Cheese, during a recent interview at Splash House. The Houston rapper unveiled a striking cardboard cutout of Cheese, who tragically lost his life in 2023, prompting an outpouring of grief and love from Gillie.

Overcome with emotion, Gillie expressed, “I love you n-ggas, man. Gotta hold back my tears, man. God damn,” as he joined Wallo and Sauce Walka for a heartfelt photo beside the tribute.

YNG Cheese was just 25 years old when he was fatally shot in July 2023. Since then, Gillie has shared his profound sorrow on social media, stating, “I miss you like $hit Dev. My heart will forever have a black hole in it, but you know your father gotta be strong to hold the family up.” He expressed gratitude for the support he received during his darkest times, emphasizing the love and appreciation for his family and followers.

Gillie also recounted the heartbreaking experience of washing his son’s body before his burial, describing it as both the most painful and pivotal moment of his life. “It was a gift and a curse,” he shared, reflecting on the significance of honoring his son’s memory in accordance with their Islamic faith.

Wallo, who also mourned the loss of YNG Cheese, expressed his love and connection to him, stating, “Tonight the pain in my heart & tears spoke to you. I love you beyond life, Cheese. I got your father, Rest Well!”
