PartyNextDoor Faces Serious Allegations: Accused of Threatening John River and Stealing Creative Ideas!

As anticipation builds for the release of their collaborative album $OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U, PartyNextDoor and Drake find themselves embroiled in controversy. The duo’s project, set to drop tomorrow (February 14), has sparked allegations from fellow artists, particularly John River, who claims that PartyNextDoor threatened him and stole ideas from his work.

River alleges that during various meetings with PartyNextDoor and OVO members, he was questioned about his creative process, specifically regarding his “Hope City II” music video. This video features the iconic Marilyn Monroe towers in Mississauga, which also appear on the cover of the upcoming album. According to River, PartyNextDoor warned him that if he didn’t pay homage, he could be blackballed from the industry.

In a detailed Instagram post, River recounted a two-hour phone call with PartyNextDoor, during which he claimed the artist expressed jealousy over River’s viral success. “Why are you getting this attention instead of me?” River quoted PartyNextDoor as saying. He also mentioned that PartyNextDoor insisted on receiving credit for his influence, which River found strange given the circumstances.

Adding to the drama, rapper Freddie Gibbs chimed in, accusing Drake and PartyNextDoor of lifting imagery from his 2022 album $oul $old $eparately. Gibbs took to social media to express his frustrations, humorously noting, “Damn they even stole the rabbits too. I’m flattered,” further fueling the fire of controversy surrounding the album’s release.
