Brener announced that a deal has been finalized with Ice Cube to write and star in the film, much to the delight of fans who have been waiting for this moment.

The original “Friday” film debuted in 1995, showcasing Ice Cube alongside an impressive cast including Chris Tucker, Nia Long, and Regina King. Following the success of the first film, two sequels were released: “Next Friday” in 2000 and “Friday After Next” in 2002. Despite the popularity of the series, Ice Cube has faced numerous challenges in getting a new film off the ground over the years.

Recently, Mike Epps, who starred in the second and third films, provided an update during an appearance on The Breakfast Club. Epps confirmed that he has been in touch with Ice Cube regarding the upcoming project, saying, “We just finished the deal. So, we’re doing the last Friday, man.” He added that the film will feature a mix of established stars and new talent, including rising comics like DC Young Fly, promising that it will be a memorable experience for audiences.

Ice Cube had previously expressed renewed optimism about the project while speaking with Flavor Flav on his SiriusXM show. He noted that he had gained traction with Warner Bros. thanks to new leadership that has shown interest in reviving the “Friday” franchise. Ice Cube mentioned that Mike De Luca, who played a role in his early career, was instrumental in getting the project back on track.
