50 Cent Scoffs at Netflix’s New ‘Power’-Inspired Crime Drama: ‘This Ain’t It’

50 Cent has made his feelings clear regarding the upcoming Netflix crime drama Nemesis, which is inspired by his hit STARZ series Power. The show, created by Courtney A. Kemp, features Shane Johnson reprising his role as Cooper Saxe from Power. However, 50 Cent is far from impressed with the project, taking to Instagram to express his skepticism.

“Nah this ain’t it a POWER reunion with one cast member [grinning face emoji]. I don’t know none of these [ninja emoji]’s. ain’t nobody jackin this shit! LOL,” he wrote, indicating his disapproval of the show’s direction. Johnson, responding in the comments, defended the project, stating, “Yeah, but bro… we’re talking SAXE! That’s enough, man!”

Nemesis is described as a crime drama that follows the story of two men on opposite sides of the law: expert criminal Coltrane Wilder and brilliant police detective Isaiah Stiles. The series aims to subvert the heist genre while exploring deep themes of motivation and personal destruction. Alongside Johnson, the cast includes Matthew Law, Y’Ian Noel, Cleopatra Coleman, and several others.

Despite the mixed reactions, 50 Cent has previously teased additional spin-offs within the Power universe, asserting that the franchise still has plenty of life left in it. “I’m glad all the fans have been so supportive of FORCE,” he stated. “We have more heat coming, my Power Universe is still expanding… wait till you see what I have up my sleeve, you haven’t seen the last of Tommy… BOOM.”

In the past, 50 Cent has hinted at a prequel series centered around Ghost and Tommy, titled Power Origins, but no updates on that project have emerged recently.

Power, which originally premiered in 2014, ran for six successful seasons and spawned three spin-offs, with 50 Cent serving as both star and executive producer. As Nemesis prepares for its debut, fans are left to wonder how the new show will fare in comparison to the beloved Power franchise.
