
In a shocking incident, rapper Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was reportedly attacked and stabbed multiple times by a fellow inmate at the California Correctional Institution (CCI) in Tehachapi. The alleged assailant, 42-year-old Santino Casio, is currently serving a life sentence for murder and has a history of violent behavior behind bars.
According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the attack occurred around 7:20 AM on Monday morning in a prison housing unit. Immediate medical assistance was provided to Lanez, who was subsequently transported to a hospital for further treatment. His camp has reported that he sustained 14 stab wounds and suffered from collapsed lungs as a result of the brutal assault.
Following the incident, Casio has been placed in restricted housing while an investigation is underway. He has a long criminal history, having been sentenced to life with the possibility of parole for second-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, and personal use of a deadly weapon. Additionally, while incarcerated, Casio has faced further charges leading to sentences for assaulting another prisoner with a deadly weapon and for possessing or manufacturing a deadly weapon while in prison.

Tory Lanez is currently serving time for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the feet during an altercation after a party at Kylie Jenner’s house in 2020. The incident has drawn significant media attention and public scrutiny, especially following Lanez’s conviction and subsequent sentencing.
