Chief Keef has a warrant out for his arrest in California.
According to a report TMZ published on Thursday, November 3, the Chicago native is facing legal consequences after he failed to show up for his scheduled court date. The “I Don’t Like” rapper was ordered to appear at this hearing after police booked him last month for a suspended/revoked license. They saw an outstanding warrant for his previous DUI case, which he caught back in June 2021, and placed him in custody. He was later released without bail. Because of his absence at Wednesday’s hearing, the judge issued a $10,000 bench warrant.
Keef, who was born Keith Cozart, has had issues with DUI’s in the past. In 2017, he was charged with a DUI after a regular traffic stop in Miami turned into a drug bust. Police discovered him in his green Maclaren next to another car while they were reportedly engaged in a drug deal. He reportedly had bloodshot eyes and a dry mouth while he took a sobriety test. After he failed, he acknowledged there was weed in his system.
“It’s okay,” Keef told cops according to TMZ. “When you find weed in my urine I’ll just get my attorney to get my marijuana card.”
Despite his legal issues, Keef has been busy on the music front. He just dropped his new single “Racks Stuffed Inna Couch” and previously collaborated with Lil Gnar on “Almighty Gnar.” He’s currently booked to perform on November 11 in Phoenix.
Chief Keef’s team has yet to issue a statement about the latest update in his case.
