Baltimore rapper YGG Tay has been hit with a federal indictment for an alleged murder conspiracy while he was already serving time in federal prison for drug and gun charges.
According to WBALTV, the indictment came down on Monday (December 19) and included five other Baltimore men associated with the Black Guerilla Family. Six murders, 11 shootings, attempted robberies, drug dealing and witness intimidation are among the charges
Tay has been accused of allegedly supplying a BGF member with $10,000 and a gun, which the BGF member is said to have used in a homicide. The indictment also states the Baltimore rapper hired a hitman in 2018 and that they allegedly tried to kill three of his rivals in exchange for payments. The hitman allegedly killed the mother and sister of one of the rivals when he couldn’t find the target.
The news comes just over a year after YGG Tay was sentenced to 15 years in prison for trafficking and drug charges relating to a November 2019 incident. At the time, agents discovered drugs and a Glock handgun with an extended magazine while serving a search warrant. Investigators had been surveilling him for some years, but he had always covered his trail
Both of Tay’s attorneys said their client has struggled with substance abuse throughout his “young adult-life … plagued by his significant addiction to opioids such as oxycodone, codeine and heroin.”
They added in a sentencing memorandum that “his phone contains copious outgoing messages to various contacts for Percocet, often gathering a limited supply from multiple sources then repeating the process the following day
In a post from prison last year, YGG Tay seemed to insinuate he’d be appealing the sentence.
“Teacher say what come after a sentence, I say appeal N-gga I’m to real!!!!!” he wrote in the Instagram caption. “Free yours and Free Mines!!!!! #FreeYdouble #FreePremeTeam
