Playboi Carti choked pregnant girlfriend charged with felony assault
Playboi Carti rose to fame in 2015 and has had high profile relationships with Blac Chyna and Iggy Azalea. Both relationships had very bad endings. However, in the case of Iggy Azalea, the two share a child. While Carti moved on with a new woman, that relationship has landed him behind bars. Apparently, the two had some kind of dispute. There was a paternity test, Carti choking the woman, and then a viral mugshot.
Playboi Carti enjoyed breakout success in 2015. During that time, there were several rappers to emerge from Atlanta. However, almost all of them were virtually forgotten a year later. Since 2017, most of those artists have become some of music’s biggest names. This is the trajectory Playboi Carti followed, as he has carved out a rock star persona. Apparently, Carti took this persona literally, when he attacked his new girlfriend.
Playboi Carti has been involved with this woman since July 2022. It looks like all was going well between the couple. After all, the woman is pregnant, and the child presumably is, or was intended to be, Carti’s. However, there was a paternity test. Among other violent acts, Playboi Carti is accusing of choking the woman to the point she couldn’t breathe. As a result, he was arrested, and is now facing a felony charge of aggravated assault. The incident took place on December 20, 2022.
