Young Thug‘s brother, UNFOONK, has been sentenced to prison for nearly a decade.
WSB-TV reported that the sentence was handed down on Monday (June 5) by Judge Ural Glanville, who issued a stern warning to the aspiring rapper (real name Quantavious Grier) before handing down a sentence of nine years and six months behind bars
Part of the special condition was that you were not supposed to possess a gun,” the judge said in his sentencing. “And the state was pretty clear. I find, based upon a preponderance of the evidence, that the state has proved its case that you have violated your probation.”
He continued: “Your attorney has asked me to consider a revocation of two years. And I certainly respect her, and I respect that you don’t know unless you ask. But the issue I find aggravating in this particular circumstance is that you got arrested with a gun within six months of you being placed on probation. And I agree with the state: you are not a candidate for probation. Because all you had to do was complete your probation and do what you’re supposed to do. Instead, you were ridin’ around in the car with a gun in violation of your probation, in what this court explicitly had conversations with you about.”
UNFOONK was arrested last month, shortly after taking a plea deal in the Young Slime Life (YSL) RICO case.
He was booked into Fulton County Jail on Thursday (May 4) on charges of possessing a firearm by a convicted felon, persons associated with a criminal street gang to participate in illegal activity and other minor traffic offenses
Unfoonk previously pleaded guilty to one count of violating the RICO Act and one count of theft by receiving stolen property in the aforementioned RICO case in December.
As part of the deal, he accepted a 12-year sentence with two years commuted to time served, along with 10 years of probation.
His probation conditions included not having any contact with Young Thug and other defendants until the case is over, performing 750 hours of community service, abiding by a 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew and not having a gun.
After accepting his plea deal in December, Unfoonk took to his Instagram Stories to deny rumors about him snitching on Young Thug.
“Damn people really think I told on my own brother smh,” he wrote at the time. “Show me in the paper work I told on anybody lol, I’m not even fenna entertain any of it, peace and blessings.”
