BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Kodak Black has claimed through his lawyer that he has been the victim of a police cover-up over his drug possession and trafficking arrest last year.
In a motion to dismiss the case, the rapper claims that the oxycodone he was accused of possessing and trafficking was just Tylenol and obtained over the counter, according to TMZ.

Kodak, who is represented by Bradford Cohen, has accused the Broward County Sheriff’s Office of a cover-up, singling out FBI Special Agent James Mitchell, who they claim is biased against the rapper.

Cohen has also accused prosecutors of attempting to withhold bodycam footage showing authorities surveilling Kodak and allegedly saying he’s “always ready” as the camera looks at his gun.

Cohen further claims the pills were tested and destroyed with them never being provided with a report. As part of the plea for dismissal of the case, Cohen claimed the charges were part of a “coordinated takedown” of his client.

Last July, Kodak Black was pulled over by police in Florida for his car windows being illegally tinted, with his car searched by officers after they claimed it smelt of marijuana

After conducting a search, officers found 31 pills alledged to be oxycodone and over $70,000 in cash. As a result, prosecutors charged him with drug trafficking.

The “Super Gremlin” hitmaker has a history of run-ins with the law, having spent time in prison over the last decade on multiple occasions for things such as drug charges, gun possession and assault.

He also took a plea deal in his sexual assault case, pleading guilty to first-degree assault and battery in 2021 and receiving 18 months on probation.

Kodak’s most notable legal case is his 2020 inprisonment for firearms possession, a sentence that was later commuted by Donald Trump on his last day as president

Since receiving a presidential pardon, Kodak has become a big supporter of Trump and has said he wants the former Apprentice host to stay in the White House permanently.

“We need Trump in office forever, man. Just like how them Chinese and Russian and Korean muthafuckas they have their president,” he said in an Instagram video last year. “Trump the best thing for America. I respect that boy logic, setup and whole rundown even if he didn’t free me.”
