Yasiin Bey has given a Dubai crowd a special treat with his rendition of a track from André 3000‘s latest drop, New Blue Sun.

Berlin-based I Still Love H.E.R. was on hand during Bey’s latest performance in Dubai on Saturday (December 9). There, the Black Star MC could be seen rapping over one of the Outkast co-founder’s flute tracks, much to the delight of the audience

Can’t believe I just witnessed this [hearts emojis],” read the onscreen caption on the clip.

Yasiin Bey isn’t the only one who has put his spin on 3 Stacks’ latest instrumental efforts.

The day before Thanksgiving, Lupe Fiasco has dropped off a gift for fans, making good on his promise to rap over the flute beats from the project

Taking to Twitter/X on November 22, the Chicago wordsmith posted a clip rapping over New Blue Sun cut, “I Really Wanted To Make A Rap Album, But This Is Literally The Way The Wind Blew Me This Time.”

While Joe Budden wasn’t necessarily a fan of Lupe’s effort, a couple of Hip Hop heavyweights also suggested ways in which they would like to see the 3 Stacks’ long awaited solo project reimagined.

Last month, Paul Wall said that he’d like a “chopped and screwed” version of New Blue Sun so he could listen to it in his car.

“Does anybody have a screwed and chopped version of Andre 3000 flute album? I need that asap for the slab,” he wrote.

Questlove also took to social media to offer his thoughts on the “next level” instrumental tracklist and stir up anticipation for it.

“I am no stranger to the ‘departure album’ […] albums the complete opposite of what the artist is known for” he wrote on Instagram. “I knew this 3000 jawn was a left turn but I didn’t know it’s the RIGHT left turn.”

Referring to the new record as “good medicine,” he added: “I always said ‘one day imma make the ambient record I’d love to sleep and dream to’ (btw, watching violent shit/sleeping to news/sleeping in stressful environment takes years off your life—-so this is why I invest heavy in stuff like this.)

“thank you @andre3000 #NewBlueSu

New Blue Sun is André 3000’s first official solo album, although he did release a disc of his own material on OutKast’s Grammy-winning 2003 double album, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.
