HipHopRaisedMeTheBlog.com reports that fans of Roddy Ricch will have to continue their wait for new music, as the release of his highly anticipated album, The Navy Album, has been postponed. Originally set for December 6, the rapper announced that the album will now drop on February 21.
Roddy Ricch has been building momentum lately, particularly after delivering a standout performance during Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” concert and appearing on the track “Dodger Blue” from Lamar’s GNX album. However, just hours before the album’s scheduled release, he confirmed the delay. In the meantime, he treated fans to a new single titled “Lonely Road,” featuring fellow Los Angeles artist Terrace Martin. The song showcases Martin’s signature saxophone sound while Ricch reflects on his career and the challenges he has faced since his last album.

Describing The Navy Album as one of the most personal projects of his career, Roddy Ricch stated that he has poured more of himself into this music than ever before. In an interview with Grunge Cake, he explained, “I’m just getting back to my roots of taking my time… just trying to really give it everything I got and being as vulnerable as I can to my fans.” He aims to create a soundtrack that resonates with listeners’ lives.
Alongside the album delay, Roddy Ricch has also faced a bizarre situation involving a Grammy award. He was compelled to pay a YouTuber who found his lost Grammy in an anonymous storage unit. The YouTuber allegedly attempted to extort him for $50K, initially offering to return the award for $10K. Although frustrated by the incident, Ricch successfully retrieved his 2020 award.
