Drake Reveals New NFL Collaboration Ahead of Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Performance

Drake has just announced an exciting new partnership between the NFL and his OVO clothing brand. Unveiled on Instagram this past Wednesday (December 11), the “Gridiron Collection” features stylish pieces like a Sideline Puffer Jacket and a Training Pullover Jacket, each customized with the OVO owl logo and representing a selection of NFL teams.

The collection highlights eight teams, including the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants, Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers, and Green Bay Packers. Fans can get their hands on these exclusive items when they go on sale this Friday (December 13), available both online and in retail stores.

This collaboration marks a significant moment for Drake and the NFL, especially as it coincides with the lead-up to his rival Kendrick Lamar’s much-anticipated Super Bowl halftime show scheduled for February.

In light of the competitive atmosphere, 50 Cent has raised questions regarding Drake’s recent legal actions against Universal Music Group. During a discussion with Cam’ron on his YouTube show, Talk With Flee, 50 Cent speculated that Drake’s lawsuit might be a strategic move to prevent Kendrick from performing his controversial diss track “Not Like Us” at the Super Bowl—a performance that typically garners hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide.

“I’ve never seen a rap battle end up in a lawsuit,” 50 Cent remarked. “But I thought that was Drake’s team trying to minimize the potential fallout from the Super Bowl.”

He further suggested that Drake’s legal team may have hinted to the NFL about the implications of airing Kendrick’s track, especially given the ongoing legal disputes involving major music entities like Apple and Universal Music Group during such a high-profile event.

In addition to the NFL collaboration, OVO has been busy with various other projects. The brand recently launched a collection in collaboration with The Simpsons, featuring pieces modeled by rapper Lil Yachty. This collection includes a vibrant hoodie showcasing beloved supporting characters, a varsity jacket featuring the iconic TV family, and a baseball cap adorned with Bart Simpson, among other items. Prices for the merchandise range from $38 for a drink cup to $898 for a premium wool and leather jacket featuring the OVO owl and a pink donut.

Stay tuned for more updates as both Drake and Kendrick Lamar gear up for what promises to be an electrifying Super Bowl season!
