Redman Reveals Release Date for Highly Anticipated ‘Muddy Waters Too’ Album

Redman has officially announced the release date for his much-anticipated album, Muddy Waters Too. In an Instagram post on December 19, the hip-hop legend shared a teaser trailer for the project, which serves as a sequel to his iconic 1996 album, Muddy Waters.

The trailer concludes with the exciting reveal that the album will drop on Tuesday, December 24, just in time for Christmas. The video also showcases a new version of the nostalgic album cover that Redman first unveiled back in October.

This isn’t the first time a rapper has broken from the traditional Friday release schedule this year; Tyler, The Creator made waves by releasing his chart-topping album Chromakopia on a Monday.

Redman has already treated fans to two singles from Muddy Waters Too: “Don’t Wanna C Me Rich” and “Jersey,” though an official tracklist has yet to be announced. This upcoming album marks the New Jersey native’s first full-length project in nearly a decade, following the 2015 release of Mudface.

In addition to his new album, Redman has expressed a desire to collaborate with Method Man on Blackout! 3, though the duo seems to have different priorities at the moment. In a recent interview with Red Bull, Redman stated, “I want to do a Blackout! 3. Maybe like 12 songs,” while Method Man responded, “We are not even focused on no Blackouts! or any of that right now. Brother, we are focused on this TV and movie stuff and producing as well. We’ve got to get these stories out there.”
