TikTok star Wolfie Kahletti has been arrested on multiple charges following a shocking video in which he filmed himself spraying chemicals on groceries at a Walmart in Mesa, Arizona. Previously known as Charles Smith, Kahletti allegedly took a can of Hot Shot Ultra Bed Bug and flea killer and doused various perishable items on December 19, according to the New York Post. Known for his provocative prank videos, this incident has sparked widespread outrage.
In a now-deleted video, Kahletti donned a black hoodie and pink bandana as he sprayed toxic chemicals over produce, including bananas, apples, lemons, oranges, and even rotisserie chicken. After spraying, he filmed himself tossing the contaminated items into a shopping cart and discarding them.
Authorities reported that Kahletti entered Walmart with the intention of filming the prank for his TikTok account. They stated he caused nearly $1,000 worth of damage to the products. Facing serious consequences, Khaletti has been charged with felony counts for introducing poison, along with three misdemeanors: criminal damage, endangerment, and theft. He voluntarily surrendered to the police on December 21.
The social media response has been swift, with users weighing in on the incident in The Shade Room’s comment section. Comments range from calls for accountability to criticism of the lengths to which some go for social media fame. One user remarked, “Yeah he needs to be locked up for sure,” while another stated, “People do anything for views and likes… smh.” Many expressed frustration over what they see as reckless behavior for the sake of clout.
In response to the viral video, a Walmart spokesperson confirmed that they removed the affected items and sanitized the store. Legal experts suggest that a conviction for tampering with consumer products could result in a prison sentence of 5 to 20 years.
