Lil Uzi Vert Claps Back at Music Leakers and Discusses Nitrous Oxide Usage

Lil Uzi Vert has made it clear that he is not a fan of music leaks, expressing his frustration with those who release unfinished singles and albums before they are ready. In a recent interview for Pitchfork’s Over/Under series, Uzi addressed the issue head-on.

When asked about what he believes is overrated, Uzi did not hesitate to call out music leaks. “Leaks be so overrated. Leaks are not ready to be presented,” he said. He further elaborated, explaining how fans and leakers often judge his music prematurely. “When y’all get leaks, fans, or the leak police, or the leak scammers… y’all sit there and y’all get 82 of my leaked songs that I haven’t put together the right way,” he added.

Uzi emphasized how leaks can distort the public’s perception of an artist, stating, “[People] sit here and say, ‘Oh, Lil Uzi is trash.’ Y’all literally are basically watching me get dressed in my closet. I don’t got my clothes on yet. So y’all basically see me naked.” He went on to assert that leaks hinder artists from presenting their work in its best form, calling the practice “horrible.”

In the same interview, Uzi also shared his thoughts on nitrous oxide, commonly known as whippets, stating that they are overrated and harmful. “Don’t do whippets! Them jawns will — they is bad!” he cautioned. He further elaborated on their dangers, mentioning potential negative effects on behavior and health, including brain damage and vitamin B12 deficiency.

Uzi also addressed rumors about his alleged use of nitrous oxide on his latest album, Eternal Atake 2. In the opening track “We Good,” he raps, “They said I was lost, they thought I was a dead guy, I was on that NOS,” directly responding to the speculation.
