Ice-T found himself in a tense situation last May when he was pulled over in New Jersey while driving his Porsche 911 without a front license plate. Newly released body cam footage captures the exchange between the Law & Order: SVU star and the officer, revealing a heated confrontation that showcases Ice-T’s characteristic candor.
During the stop, the officer discovered that Ice-T’s license and registration had expired, leading to a back-and-forth that highlighted the rapper’s frustration. In the footage, Ice-T can be seen calmly explaining that he was on his way to the DMV to resolve his paperwork issues. When the officer pointed out that his registration had been expired since 2021, Ice-T replied, “That’s where I’m going. I’m headed there,” and attempted to clarify his situation.
As the officer continued to press him, Ice-T insisted that he had been trying to rectify the situation, stating, “I went yesterday.” The conversation escalated when Ice-T suggested the officer accompany him to the DMV, urging him to lighten up. “You don’t gotta be that serious about this,” he remarked, but the officer remained firm.
Tensions rose when the officer threatened to tow Ice-T’s vehicle, prompting an agitated response from the rapper. “You’re not finna to tow my f###### vehicle,” he retorted. As the officer demanded his keys, Ice-T declared, “If I’m not under arrest, I’m getting out of the car.” This led to a dramatic moment where Ice-T demanded his paperwork back, expressing his frustration directly to the camera.
The officer maintained that Ice-T was the one being unreasonable, to which Ice-T responded, “How am I the a######? I showed you all my paperwork.” When the officer’s superior arrived, the blame shifted entirely onto Ice-T. Although he ended up receiving four tickets, including one for driving with a suspended license, he was ultimately allowed to leave with his vehicle, much to the officer’s dismay.
