Rolling Loud is stepping up to support victims of the devastating California wildfires with a pop-up concert that has already raised $25,000. Co-founders Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif organized the event in Florida, which sold out quickly, demonstrating the hip-hop community’s commitment to helping those affected by the recent disasters.
The funds raised from the Rolling Loud Wildfire Concert will be donated directly to GoFundMe’s official Wildfire relief page, which has amassed over $4 million in contributions so far. The concert featured a star-studded lineup of Florida rappers, including Ski Mask the Slump God, DJ Scheme, Luh Tyler, Pouya, 1900Rugrat, Robb Bank$, and Danny Towers, all performing at Kemistry in Miami, a venue known for its vibrant atmosphere and a capacity of 900.
In addition to ticket sales, Rolling Loud plans to continue raising funds through the “Loud Aid” livestream event scheduled for Thursday, as well as offering “Rebuild L.A.” merchandise, with proceeds benefiting the Anti-Recidivism Coalition’s Firefighter Fund. Zingler and Cherif emphasized the importance of supporting Los Angeles, a city that has significantly contributed to the success of Rolling Loud and the hip-hop industry as a whole.
For fans concerned about the upcoming Rolling Loud California festival scheduled for March, there is no need to worry; a portion of ticket sales will also go towards relief efforts. With headliners like A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti, YG, and Sexyy Red set to perform, the festival promises to be an exciting event while also contributing to a worthy cause.
As the hip-hop community rallies together, the Rolling Loud Wildfire Concert serves as a reminder of the power of music and solidarity in times of need. The response from fans and artists alike underscores the influence and responsibility of the music industry in making a positive impact during challenging times.
