Jim Jones is marking a significant milestone in his life as he celebrates five days of sobriety after deciding to go cold turkey during a recent trip to Japan. This marks the first time in over three decades that the rapper has been free from cannabis.
While in Japan, where cannabis laws are notoriously strict, Jim Jones prioritized his health and well-being, choosing to abstain from weed. He joined Kanye West in Tokyo, who is currently working on his new album, BULLY. The rapper shared his experience on Instagram, expressing the exhilarating feeling of being sober, stating, “I been around here bouncing like a kid like I’m in high school. I definitely got that high school feeling.”
Jones elaborated on the positive changes he’s experienced, saying, “My body ain’t feel this pure in a minute. I was in the club dancing last night for like 45 minutes straight, sweating.” He acknowledged his long-standing addiction to cannabis but emphasized his discipline in choosing to stop for the sake of business, adding, “But at least I know when it’s time for business I’m disciplined to stop cold turkey for what’s important.”
In addition to his personal journey, Jim Jones was excited about his collaboration with Kanye West, hinting at the anticipation surrounding the BULLY album. He shared an image of himself with Kanye and Justin Laboy, praising the project and advising others to prepare for its release, stating, “This album so crazy. I wouldn’t drop if I was y’all or drop now cause when he drops this is gonna be a big problem.”
Moreover, Jim Jones recently announced his partnership with the I WILL GRADUATE Youth Development Program through his new initiative, Vamp Cares. This program aims to provide students with resources and motivation to stay engaged in their education and overcome challenges.
As Jim Jones embraces this new chapter of sobriety and personal growth, fans and supporters are eager to see how his journey unfolds and what impact it will have on his music and community efforts.
