This tour marks his first standup appearance in nine years, and he’s making it a point to give back by featuring up-and-coming comedians like Chico Bean and Ms. Pat as opening acts.
“I wanted to give young comics a chance to be seen by my audience,” Lawrence said in a recent interview. “Standup is my baby and how I got started, so I just wanted to get back out there to feel that love again from my fans and give that love back.”
