In a surprising twist, 6ix9ine’s Platinum and Gold plaques, which were seized by the IRS last year, have sold for significantly higher prices than anticipated at a recent auction. Despite not dominating the charts like he once did, the controversial rapper’s memorabilia continues to attract considerable interest, with items fetching impressive sums.
According to reports from AllHipHop, 6ix9ine’s Platinum plaque for “GOOBA” sold for an astonishing $10,250—well above the estimated $4,000 to $6,000 range. His other hit “BEBE” saw a jaw-dropping sale price of $19,000, more than three times its expected value, while the plaque for “STOOPID” went for $12,000, nearly double the estimate. Even his breakout track “GUMMO” performed remarkably well, with two separate Platinum plaques selling for $14,250 and $13,500, far exceeding the $4,000 to $6,000 estimation.
Not all items were as fortunate, however. While some of 6ix9ine’s flashy jewelry pieces, such as the “Billy the Puppet” Jigsaw pendant and the “Bruce the Shark” diamond pendant, sold for around or even below their expected prices, other jewelry items like watches did better than predicted.
The collection, which consisted of 63 items, was auctioned off by Market Auctions, following an IRS raid on 6ix9ine’s Florida home in April of last year due to alleged nonpayment of taxes. 6ix9ine later confirmed the IRS’s claims in an Instagram post, revealing that he had not reported his income for four years, which ultimately led to the raid.
In a candid moment, he reflected on how a video showcasing a safe full of cash had contributed to the IRS’s actions, stating, “They broke into this safe thinking there was money in there but it was only the jewelry.”
