Kendrick Lamar is rumored to be stepping into the video game world with a collaboration for the wildly popular game Fortnite. Speculation suggests that a new bundle titled “Sit Down, Be Humble” is on the horizon, inspired by the memorable refrain from Kendrick’s 2017 hit “HUMBLE.”
The anticipated bundle is expected to feature a Kendrick-themed emote along with the inclusion of “HUMBLE” itself. As of now, neither Kendrick nor Fortnite publisher Epic Games has confirmed these exciting rumors.
If this collaboration materializes, Kendrick would join a roster of notable rappers who have collaborated with Fortnite. Eminem made headlines in 2023 with his skins inspired by his iconic looks, while Travis Scott hosted a groundbreaking virtual concert in 2020, premiering his collaboration “The Scotts” with Kid Cudi. Other artists like Snoop Dogg, Ice Spice, and the late Juice WRLD have also made appearances as playable characters in the game.
In addition to the potential Fortnite project, Kendrick is currently working on his debut film with “South Park” creators Matt Parker and Trey Stone. Titled “Whitney Springs,” the live-action comedy is set to premiere this summer and features Chloe East and Celeste Octavia, with Kendrick possibly taking on a role himself.
The film’s synopsis reveals a unique storyline about a Black man interning as a slave reenactor at a history museum who discovers that his white girlfriend’s ancestors once owned his. Paramount Pictures’ CEO Brian Robbins has described the script as “one of the funniest and most original” he’s come across, promising a significant impact at CinemaCon.
As fans eagerly await both the potential Fortnite collaboration and Kendrick’s film debut, the excitement surrounding the multifaceted artist continues to grow. Stay tuned for more updates on these projects!
