Feds Offering Multi-Million Dollar Rewards for Information on Mexican Drug Cartel Leaders Believed to Be Operating in Georgia

The Department of Justice has announced substantial rewards for information leading to the capture of two brothers suspected of drug trafficking activities linked to the Mexican drug cartel in Georgia. During a news conference on Tuesday, officials discussed two federal cases that highlight the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region.

Johnny “Pez” Hurtado Olascoaga and Jose “Fresa” Alfredo Hurtado Olacoaga are wanted for conspiracy to manufacture, import, and distribute cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and fentanyl in the United States. Additionally, they are suspected of engaging in money laundering activities.

Federal authorities have identified the brothers as being associated with the La Nueva Familia Michoacana (LNFM) Drug Cartel, which has been designated a foreign terrorist organization. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) estimates that the LNFM is responsible for transporting, importing, and distributing over 60 metric tons of Schedule I and II substances annually.

To incentivize the public’s assistance, federal authorities are offering rewards of up to $5 million for information leading to the arrest of Johnny Olascoaga, who is believed to be the leader of the LNFM. A separate reward of $3 million is being offered for information regarding his brother, Jose Olacoaga.

Officials are urging anyone with information to contact the DEA at (404) 281-3220. For individuals located outside the United States, they are encouraged to reach out to the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

As law enforcement continues to tackle the challenges posed by drug trafficking organizations, the call for community involvement remains critical in the fight against these powerful criminal enterprises. The pursuit of justice for those affected by drug-related violence is a top priority for authorities, and they hope that these rewards will lead to the apprehension of these dangerous individuals.
